If you would like the assistance of White Rose Visas in preparing and presenting your application at the Liverpool Service and Support Centre (SSC), do get in touch. We welcome your questions and enquiries, and offer a free initial consultation. Alternatively, you can book a premium appointment and attend the Liverpool SSC independently. For independent visitors, we hope that the following information and tips are useful.

Liverpool Service and Support Centre is situated in The Capital Building, 6 Union Street, Liverpool, L3 9TY..

The opening hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, except bank holidays. Appointment times are from 9am to 3.30pm. Doors close at 4pm, but applications made before this time will be processed on the same day.

Liverpool SSC is easily accessible from Moorfields Station (this is on the Wirral Line which can be accessed from Liverpool Lime Street). Walking from Moorfields Station would take approximately 15 minutes or you could use a taxi which should take 5 minutes and cost approximately £5.

If you wish to travel by bus from Liverpool Lime Street, head to stand number 9 at nearby Queens Square Bus Station. Here you can catch the Circular Line, labelled CL, at 9.23, 9.35, 9.47 or 9.59am. After these times, the service runs at 23, 35, 47 or 59 minutes past the hour all day. On the bus, you would alight at India Buildings on Water Street and walk down Rumford Street which is directly opposite, then onto Rumford Place and Union Street. Walking from the bus stop to the SSC takes approximately 5 minutes.

If you wish to drive, there are a few parking options. The Capital Building's car park is found on Fazakerley Street, L3 9DL. Alternatively there are car parks at the Pier Head, Princes Dock or National Car Parks on Rumford Street, L2 8SL. Each of these options is approximately a 15-20 minute walk away from the SSC. There is no on street parking nearby.

When you enter the building you will go through security checks, your bags will be scanned and you will have to walk through a metal detector. They will ask you to remove your coat and belt, but not your shoes. You will be asked to remove any sharp items such as scissors, nail files or flammable materials such as lighters and perfume. You will be asked to leave them with security staff to collect on your way out. You may also be asked to open the cover of your mobile phone to check for concealed weapons. It is not permissible to use a mobile phone inside the building.

Facilities at Liverpool SSC include toilets, baby changing and mother's room, a multi-faith prayer room and a photograph booth. Drinking water is provided free of charge. There is no television or entertainment at the SSC and so it may be advisable to bring books and games for any children. There are no refreshment facilities in the SSC but there are plenty of cafés, take-aways and a Sainsbury's nearby.

We would recommend that you only take a ticket once you've met your Representative, because you tend to get called to the desk promptly after taking a ticket. If you are attending without a Representative, do take a ticket immediately.

You will need to stay in the building until your biometrics have been completed, and you have a decision. If you have a Representative, it should be possible for them to remain in your place. This whole process takes roughly four hours, though of course can vary depending on the workload of the Liverpool SSC staff on that day.

Staff at Liverpool SSC are extremely helpful and polite, and overall the experience should be enjoyable for you.

If you have a few hours between your biometric appointment and a decision being made on your application, you may wish to explore Liverpool a little. For ideas, see Visit Liverpool.
